I Wanted You Most (Classic Poem Series #5)

I suppose this could be a companion piece to the poem I just posted. I found them together (along with two quite different pieces).

My older work is certainly easier to follow than the oddness that drives my Muse these days.

I Wanted You Most

I wanted you most yesterday,
freshly showered and barefoot,
aglow under the black dampness of your hair.
laughing as I urged you to stay home.

No work should interrupt this,
the sweetness of your warmth,
the exquisite pattern of your breath,
your cells dividing, endlessly replicating you.
